Charcuterie is an essential part of Spanish gastronomy. Made mainly from pork and beef, Spanish charcuterie and salted meats deserve a special mention in national and international gastronomic guides. Present in our diet since time immemorial - as there is archaeological evidence that shows that pork (from wild boar) was domesticated some 4,000 years ago - Spaniards give a privileged place at our table and in our pantry to embutido and salted meats, and we buy and consume them all year round.
